The Deputy Minister of Arts and Culture’s report back on the refurbishment of graves of former liberation fighters and community engagement

The Deputy Minister of Arts and Culture, Ms Makhotso Maggie Sotyu invites members of the media to the report back session on the refurbishment of graves of former liberation fighters and community engagement at Zwelethemba in Worcester in the Western Cape.

This will be a community engagement programme that will be progressively responding to the Zwelethemba Community’s request for the refurbishment of the graves of freedom fighters who, were killed at the height of apartheid during the 1980’s.

Not only is the Department of Arts and Culture availing a budget for the restoration of these graves, the Department will also commit to a long-term plan of building a multi-purpose resource and art centre for the community of Zwelethemba.
