The Minister of Arts and Culture, Mr Nathi Mthethwa, hereby invites members of the heritage fraternity and general public to nominate persons to serve as Council members of Ditsong Museums of South Africa in terms of the Cultural Institutions Act, 1998 (Act No. 119 of 1998).
When nominations are submitted, it should be borne in mind that the nominee requires a broad understanding and experience in the field of heritage, broad managerial and financial expertise, legal expertise, knowledge of marketing and liaison, fundraising, education and cultural or social research, as well as a willingness to render community service.
Anyone wishing to nominate persons to serve as members of Council of Ditsong Museums of South Africa must submit the following:
- A letter containing full names and all contact details of the nominee. The letter must also provide reasons for nomination and explain suitability for appointment;
- Recently updated curriculum vitae of the nominee, including three (3) contactable references;
- Certified copies of the nominee Identity Documents and academic qualification (s); and
- A statement/letter signed by the nominee, in which he or she agrees to the nomination.
No nomination will be considered unless all of the above are included. Correspondence will only be entered into with shortlisted candidates.
