Arts and Culture Trust: Professional Development Programme

Arts and Culture TrustThe Arts and Culture Trust Grants has two grant programmes, namely; Once-Off Professional Development Grant and Three-Year Professional Development Grant. These grants aims to support the development of a reliable, sustainable and vibrant arts and culture sector in South Africa.

The Once-Off Professional Development Grant offers applicants up to R60 000.00 depending on their eligibility. The deadline for this call is 31 March 2016 for cycle 1 and 30 September 2016 for cycle 2.

The Three-Year Professional Development Grant offers up to a maximum of R90 000.00 (R30 000.00 per annum for three years). The three year funding cycles will from 2017-2019.

Preference for the grants will be given to the following geographical regions:

Northern Cape

  • Mpumalanga
  • North West
  • KwaZulu-Natal
  • Limpopo
  • Free State

Additionally, the following arts disciplines will receive preference:

  • Dance
  • Arts Education
  • Arts Administration
  • Literature
  • Visual Art

The aim is to support not only projects taking place in geographical areas listed above but rather ensure equitable distribution of funds to all severely under-resourced areas and communities in all provinces.
