Top African Designers to Celebrate Africa Month with WeAreAfrica Fashion Extravaganza in Nelspruit

The Department of Arts and Culture (DAC) in partnership with South African Fashion Week will host the first leg of WeAreAfrica Fashion extravaganza on Saturday, 16 May 2015 at Nelspruit in Mpumalanga. This Africa month Fashion showpiece is aimed at promoting cultural exchange, integration, unity and solidarity within the continent in line with Africa Month theme, we are Africa – ‘Opening the doors of learning and culture to promote peace and friendship from Cape to Cairo’,

WeAreAfrica Fashion extravaganza serves as a platform to celebrate African Identity. Top South African fashion designers will join their Pan-African counterparts to showcase some of the most exciting local and Pan-African designs. This will feature an extensive range of other fashion-related design such as jewellery, millinery, footwear and handbags as well as craft and textiles through shows and exhibitions.

Shows will include amongst others designers, Fikirte Addis of Yefiker of Ethiopia, IamISIGO of Nigeria and Esnoko by Chiza Ngulube of Zambia alongside the current collections of top womenswear signatures such as Sun Goddess, Rubicon, Gert-Johan Coetzee and Lunar as well as menswear designers such Ephraim Molingoane of Ephymol, Olé Ledimo of House of Ole, Shaldon Kopman of Naked Ape and Paledi Segapo of Palse Homme.
